First of all, thank you ahead of time for reading! I’m open to any rating with the caveat that I don’t want smut. If you believe a fic warrants an explicit rating despite not having smut, then I’m happy to receive it! I’m also happy to receive a fic or work with the given length or dimension stipulations of the exchange. You can find me on Ao3 as abyssalplain. And if an exchange is accepting treats, please know I am always willing to receive some!

Fic Likes:
I love character-driven narratives, but I’m also a sucker for something more worldbuilding and/or lore-focused works. I also love interesting and experimental writing. Feel free to play with your prose. My tastes tend to lean sad and tragic, but feel free to create something light and fluffy too!
I have a preference for gen relationships, or pre-romantic relationship, but don’t let this limit you! Feel free to use any perspective in your writing (first, second, and third) and any tense (past or present. You can try experimenting with future too if you want!)
-Character studies
-Worldbuilding: characters take a backseat or are utilized to explore facets of the setting or dynamics presents between factions and organizations in the world.
-Gen Fics
-In-universe media: such as academic excerpts, book excerpts, journalism, social media, radio transcripts, ect.
-Exploration of the legacy of characters and how canon events may be seen through the lens of history
-POV Outsider: observing a relationship or another character from another POV. Absolutely love imaging a historical POV of how events or from canon will be remembered. Also interested in how does the media see an event or person. The contrast between how a character sees themselves vs how everyone around them sees them.
-Power dynamics: intentional or unintentional abuses of power, conscious or unconscious of negotiation of power dynamics in a normally healthy relationship and likewise for unhealthy relationships as well.
-Loyalty: Unwavering loyalty that goes unnoticed until it’s too late (person dies or they’ve reached a point where they can no longer follow), loyalty that persists despite betrayal. Unwanted loyalty, unhealthy loyalty. I just really love exploring the lengths and facets of loyalty.
-Childhood friends: In general and also AUs where unlikely characters are childhood friends
-Ambiguous relationships that don't bother the people involved
-Dynamics where characters may not like each other but they respect each other
-Unrequited love/pining:
-Angst and whump
-Aromantic and/or asexual headcanons
-Hurt/Comfort
-Bittersweet endings
-Open-ended endings
-Tragic endings and character death
-Codependency
-Unreliable narrators
Art Likes (If Applicable):
I’m fine with all sorts of art styles and mediums. Artists should feel free to take inspiration from classical paintings (like in the vein of artists recreating paintings with characters as the main subjects). I love dynamic poses as well as more subtle moments between characters.
Feel free to draw inspiration from my Fic Likes when possible.
DNWs:
-Unrequested mundane AU: for example, coffee shop AU, high school AU, no magic AU, ect.
-Unrequested A/B/O AU
-Unrequested incest: Does NOT apply to The Locked Tomb series, ASOIAF-related fandoms (books,HotD, ect.), Dune, and perhaps others. This will be indicated in fandom specific requests.
-Genderbending
-Smut: Suggestive and even some explicit content is fine, but I’d prefer that sex not be the main focal point of the fic. I would prefer not to receive any sexually explicit art. Artistic nudity is fine.
-Kid/Pregnancy fics: I’m just not into them most of the time when they’re played straight. I read them more in a horror/unnerving mystery context, so if you’re going in that direction, then I’m open to the idea.
Specific exchanges may have individualized DNWs on the request sheet, so please be mindful of those!
Final Note:
I’m totally fine with receiving works depicting dark subject matter such as gore, cannibalism, and other topics that a lot of people are sensitive towards. As long as it’s not a part of the DNWs list(s), you are fine! The allowance of the above subject matter is, of course, contingent on the fact that there is no DNW on a specific relationship or thing in the request!
I'm also a big fan of Major Character Death.
Other common opt-ins that I am fine with are second-person and first-person POV.
